OUR HISTORY
Established 1893

Gillon Securities Ltd. was formed nearly 60 years ago but can trace its origins back to 1893. Over the past 60 years GILLONS has been dedicated to creating wealth for clients. In that time the firm has built a reputation for quality service. We pride ourselves on our independence and continuous service for nearly 60 years.

1883    Mr. William C. Bury set up business in 1893 after buying a seat on the Stock Exchange of Melbourne.
Mr. Frank H. Sharp joined Mr. Bury in partnership after buying a seat on the Stock Exchange of Melbourne in 1911.
Mr. L. Miles Gillon took over the business of Bury & Sharp after buying a seat on the Stock Exchange of Melbourne on, 29th August 1945. The firm became known as L. M. Gillon & Co thereafter.
Mr. L. Miles Gillon and Mr. James F. Derham merged their firms in 1960 to become know as Gillon Derham & Co.
Mr. Stephen M. Gillon joined the partnership of Gillon Derham & Co after buying a seat on the Stock Exchange of Melbourne in June 1976.
Gillon Derham & Co., in the guise of Gillon Derham Australiasian Securities Ltd. became a corporate member of the Australian Stock Exchange Ltd. on 20th December 1988.
On 28th May 1992 the name was changed to Gillon Securities Ltd.
Today   Mr. Stephen M. Gillon, the son of Mr. L. Miles Gillon, is the Managing Director of Gillon Securities Ltd.
